This blog will be chronicling my en devours to create a all new RPG system, which can be used with any setting easily. My goals with this system are simple:

Scalability – It has to play at level 20 the same it plays at level 1

Modular – Easy to add or subtract sets of rules/content without significantly effecting gameplay

Universal – Must be logical for use with multiple settings (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Spy, etc.)

Easy to Understand – Must behave logically and be easy to pick up

Fast Play – Rules must help to make game play proceed quickly without bogging down the gaming session.

These 5 goals I have for the system I am creating I feel are the top areas where most currently existing game systems fall apart. They don’t necessarily fail at all 5, but they usually fail on at least one. I don’t feel that obtaining 4 of these goals means that I can fail on 1 of them.

There are a ton of discussions out there on game theory and game creation and some of the points made by people out there I do agree with and some I don’t. Of course that’s why it’s my system and not their’s.
